Felida PTA funds and orchestrates several annual events for our Felida Elementary School Families! Following is a list of our annual events, along with the current chairperson, contact info, and specific date or time of year this event occurs. Back To School Social - August 24, 2023
Students and families can meet teachers, tour the school, sign up for PTA, volunteering, and programs. You can also enjoy a special frozen treat! Plan, organize and implement B2S Social.

BooHoo/Yahoo Social - September 5, 2023
This event occurs on the first day of school each year to welcome the new parents and give them school/PTA info, provide boxes of tissues to dry their eyes, help them meet new families, and answer any questions they may have regarding the school and/or PTA. Returning parents are also welcome to attend!
Trunk or Treat - October 24, 2025
It’s almost time for our Annual Trunk or Treat event! This beloved Felida tradition will take place rain or shine in our school’s parking lot. Come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy an evening full of fun, community, and plenty of treats!
Event Highlights
Don’t forget to bring a bag to collect candy from all our wonderful trunks!
Kid Raffle
This event is completely free, including the raffle!
Keep an eye out for the roaming Chef walking among the crowd. If you spot them, ask for a raffle ticket! Hold onto your half of the ticket for a chance to win one of the amazing prizes, raffled off at 7:00 PM. (Winners must be present to claim prizes.)
Austen’s Huggable Hero’s
Austen’s Huggable Heroes will be collecting new stuffed animals during the event! Bring a new stuffy to drop off and receive an extra raffle entry to win an overnight stay at the Heathman Lodge!
5th Grade Thriller Performance!
Don’t miss the highlight of the night! Our 5th graders - led by Ms. Mount - will perform the iconic Thriller dance at 6:00PM. It’s always a crowd favorite!
Candy
A huge thank-you to Big Al’s, who generously donated enough candy for every student to participate! To ensure everyone receives a chance to enjoy the event, please remind your children to walk through the trunks one time only.
Art Walk
Our students have been working hard in art class to create festive, themed decorations that will be displayed along our Art Walk. A huge thank-you to Ms. Stanger for supporting this wonderful project - we can’t wait to see the kids’ creativity on display!
Photographer
We’ll have a roaming photographer, Madelyn Clement, capturing all the fun!
She’ll be dressed as Mother Ginger, so keep an eye out. After the event, we’ll share a QR code to access the photo gallery.
Parking & Safety
For everyone’s safety, the Felida parking lot will close to all vehicles at 4:45 PM. Feel free to park at Thomas Jefferson Middle School or in the adjacent neighborhoods!

Giving Tree/Cocoa & Caring - December
This event happens in early December, where families come together to wrap the gifts donated from our Giving Tree program. The chairperson of this event will plan event to prep and wrap all of the donated items from holiday giving tree. Light planning, Nov-Dec, event help needed early Dec.
STEM Night - TBD
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math - Hands-on experimentation and demonstration for the entire family! We usually have an event/demonstration during the day for students and have an evening event is open to friends and family. A great night of learning and exploring!
Plant Sale - March TBD
A yearly event in which we partner with New Leaf Greenhouse, a local nursery, to provide the best flowers, herb, and vegetable plants Felida has to offer. All plants are guaranteed.

Spring Fling Carnival - June TBD
This event happens near the end of the school year, celebrating a great year and ushering in a fun summer break. The chairperson will plan, organize volunteers, implement activities – or help at event only (Apr – June planning, June event). Scheduled activities are a rockin' DJ and concessions (the spring book fair coincides with the end of the year social).
